Sorry Martyn, very tough break incomplete from the 3 yard line...

Well done in taking advantage of my lazy D that I used for the game against Dex. How often do you get a game with 542 yards rushing??

While it was a tough way to lose if I'd nailed the missed FG it would have been a two score game.

Roll on week 10  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif

Good win Marc! One of those games that was so damn annoying to read when you lose, but after a few minutes to chill actually a bloody great game!

http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif

In all honesty I feel a bit unlucky to lose (once again in AY!!!) as I feel I should have got even more breakouts from my running game. You say I was unlucky from 3 yards out at the death, but then that was a computer call anyway. I feel much more unlucky that the play combinations at 58:28 or 59:34 resulted in penalties AGAINST me, and the play at 59:20 didn't go all the way (lets be honest all 3 of those combos could have ended in a TD). You also recovered both your fumbles, grr! And scored on the last play of the first half - double grr!

But despite that still a great game, and I have to say that your O gameplan really took me by surprise, especially in the first half.

Week 10 will certainly be interesting - see you in Pittsburgh...

Atlanta 45 Carolina 52...1000+ total offensive yards...what a game!!!

My goal is to get my Lions playing at the same level next season, but I doubt I'll ever reach the same level as these 2 teams...awesome coaching guys!

Norman's smoke and mirrors certainly did the trick.  I'm off to eat my humble pie for breakfast....

It shouldn't have worked out like this! Both teams generally called well on defense and the game just went crazy. The highest Gameplan score I have been involved in from over 300 played in the last 3 1/2 years.

The Falcons 45 Panthers 52 game had everything except good defence.

More on this tomorrow, whilst I contemplate!

I can't believe i'm 5-3, I either win by 20+ points or lose within 7! Anyway more tomorrow!

In the meantime Coach Sims can be smug, I can't see anybody stopping this "O" (including the Eagles). But come on guys i've shown you there defense is made up of pussy cats (just like mine!)

Keep playing to the final whistle, get the job done.

Smug has a right to be smug, but I'm not counting his chickens yet. My pass defence is a highly rated 22nd in the league and we certainly weren't burnt by the Panthers in our game. My D played well that game granted but my offence certainly do me any favours. I think a few teams around can put both together and give the Panthers a run for it come the post season.

Alan, Smug, congratulations on an amazing offensive scorefest, must be the game of the season so far!

Smug, I look forward to your visit to the Desert next week.

What chance of the game being abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch??

We are ready for you Smug - come and get us!!

Yes, much like a college game!

Yes, tough to get penalties (holding possible on BZ? false start with the game on the line?).

I think this game sums up what still works for GP in that even when you get the perfect matchup S EV v BZ for example then it doesn't necessarily go the distance.

However, I'd be pissed off if I was you.

Marc.

3 days late as usual (the downside of playing this game by post!) but:

Was pretty impressed with our performance against the Colts. The 3 TDs in the 4th quarter made the final scoreline a bit flattering, but I felt our Defence contained the Colts well throughout (apart from that early TD obviously!) and we were always looking likely winners. I expect Dex will have a few tricks up his sleeve for the rematch though.

Elsewhere, after what I felt was a fairly predictable week last week, it was good to see AY throwing up a few more surprise results this time around. And what can I say about the Panthers-Falcons game that hasn't already been said?!? As Alan advised, I'm trying to look on the positive side that this game shows both teams can give up huge numbers of yards and points, but I'm really going to have to think about how to limit the damage that that Panthers Offence can wreak ready for our Week 12 meeting!
