Put the finishing touches to the gameplan today. For some reason I had it in my head that I'd lost to the Patriots earlier in the season so was gobsmacked to realise I'd beaten them 20-10 when doing my scouting and prep! Gives me a bit of confidence going into the game, must admit after looking at the Pats squad and their demolition job at Arrowhead last week I was wondering how to go about the game, far less obvious to me than it was against the Chargers last week. I've a feeling this will be a very close game, although having said that I also wouldn't be totally surprised to see one team dominate the other if Greg or I can get our gameplans spot on. Despite HFA and the win earlier in the season I certainly didn't feel like a favourite for the game when putting the GP together. I think my D has to stand firm again as they did against the Chargers and come up with the turnovers as they have all season for me to win this game, and my O has to protect the ball. Can't afford to give the Pats easy points by giving them a short field!

I've already achieved more than I expected in my first full season in AY, but now I'm one game away from the Super Bowl I must admit I'm desperate to get there and finally bring my success as a basic coach into the advanced game.

Hope it's a good game Greg and not decided by any D DL WC bullshit!

after last week I'd have to propose the Pats as favourites, I didn't think anyone using a non S DP GP would be able to do that to the Chiefs, the Pats are absolutely on fire, should be a ripper of a game!

am hopeful of a patriot cardinal bowl to be played at the arena joondalup (5 mins walk from my place)as i have been playing advanced since 1990 without winning a superbowl in a competitive league (a win in a not very competitive league (the ae which doesn't exist anymore my sole win many years ago))and mike has been playing since 1989 with (i think he has said so if my not very good memory serves me right)a similar record so it would be great for us ól fellas to play it out (both over 40 now)as i feel we are both overdue anyway good luck martyn and what will be now is up to the gameplan gods

well martyn comiserations mate it was a good game and i thought oh no here we go very early where after 57 secs a defensive gamble i took i thought might be my undoing (especially if they came together a few times)luckily the team had more composure than the coach (i'd be a shocking live coach)and stayed with the plan and didn't panic and came back the game never blew out and was up for grabs throughout the game and turnovers were probably the difference as you thought they would be now it's the panthers and i don't know if anyone can stop them but the texans would have probably have been more capable than me especially as they have shown they can beat that style in already having disposed of the chargers
this is the best season i have had (and my squad is quite strong, which seems to make a significant difference)but the team has been torn apart through the post season so next season will probably struggle so next season will be another interesting and very hard one for all of us

Commis. to Martyn and congrats. to Greg.

Sorry to keep doubting you Greg, but I thought the Texans would shade this one. The Panthers are going to be a real test, but you've done brilliantly to defeat both the Chiefs and the Texans on the road and should be very proud of your achievements whatever happens in the Superbowl. Just one question - what the hell happened in the second-half of the regular season?!?! Were you just trying to lull your play-off opponents into a false sense of security?!  images/icones/icon15.gif

Don't want to appear unsympathetic, but I'm glad to hear that the Pats will be weaker next season, as so will the Jets, especially on defence. Don't know how the Colts have fared, but perhaps next season is their chance to take the East ... or maybe even the new-look Dolphins!

Big congratulations Greg, you called an excellent game and I just couldn't do enough on D to stop you, or overcome my costly turnovers on O. My first failed 4th down was a real killer as well, that's when I knew for sure the game was lost. Your running game was just too strong to stop and I didn't get enough good match ups to force you into long yardage situations.

I must admit I feel like I have lost a golden opportunity here, not because I expected to beat you, far from it, but becuase if I had I currently fancy my chances far more than I have in the past to give Nick's GP a good game. I'm not even confident of winning the AFC Central again next season, never mind getting to the Champ Game, lol!

Best of luck Greg in the Super Bowl, I'll be cheering for you and if you can beat the Chiefs and Texans on the road, and then beat the 16-0 Panthers, you will be the most worthy SB Champion I've ever seen!

would have to say goz may be most worthy from last season as he beat nick after going through the wildcard am hoping for another fairytale as the patriots go 1-7 in there last 8 and win the bowl however you beat goz so you proved you can beat that style (which is similar)where i have yet to beat it so feel you would have probably had a better show against nick

however will definately be trying and just need the gameplan gods to smile on my patriots for one more game
