Well the gameplan is in. Now I'm just up late waiting for the mail to arrive. A few mods this week. Lots of positive changes -trying to reduce turnovers, bust a few big plays, and contain a bruising running game.

My prediction is a low scoring streetfight with no holds barred. I don't see myself scoring 20 points and I'm hoping the Eagles don't either.

I'm on my 3rd Jim Beam & coke so the brain is starting to fry a bit.  My policy is not to drink and write gameplans so Thursday nights are a good time to put the feet up and relax.

Good luck to everyone and I hope its NFC 11 AFC 1.

Question: is there any point in trying to build a balanced offence & a killer D, when your opponent can just run D DS in ANY 3rd down situation & get a completion of some sort?!  Its s*it like this that’s making me want to quit the pro game & put all my efforts into my college league.

A brief drive by drive summary of Cinci @ Philly

Fielding the opening kickoff the Bengals drove into Eagle territory, coming up jus short on a 3rd and 7 and sending on the kicker, who missed a 47 yarder.
Philly went 3 and out, with a nice deep punt.
After moving the chains once the Bengals punted again, to the 10.
On 1st and long McNabb threw it away, and Cinci had the ball 18 yards out.
3 Plays later the Bengals tack on 7 points, 7-0 CI
The Eagles put together a 10 play drive, but had to punt, putting out of the endzone.
The Bengals went 3 and out, giving the eagles the ball near midfield.
9 runs and 2 passes later the Eagles had the scored tied at 7-7.
at the 22 minute park Cinci warmed up with a smooth 80 yard drive in 10 plays to score 7 more 14-7 CI.
The Eagles drove to midfield, but McNabb was sacked and coughed up the ball, giving cinci the ball 37 yards out.
2 Plays later the Eagles snagged an interception and returned inside the 5, to score on the next play 14-14
With a minute left in the half the Bengals went deep, only to get picked off again, with another long return, this time all the way to paydirt, Philly up for the first time 21-14.
Bengals got the ball again, but without enough time to score.
21-14 philly at the half.

Both teams went 3 nad out on their first drives, before Philly put in a 6 minute 15 play drive, with Akers tacking on 3 points with 20 minutes left to play 24-14 PE
The Eagle D held tough on the next drive, sending Cinci 3 nad out.
Philly drove for 9 plays to down a punt on the 4 yard line just as the quater ended, holding Cinci to only 7 yards in the 3rd quater.
The cats put up their best drive yet, 14 plays over 5 minutes, but a stuffed run fumbled the ball back to philly.
The birds moved the chains once then a monster punt went out a tthe 8, backing the Bengals up with only 5 minutes left.
2 minutres later Cinci punted from 70 out with 2 minutes left on 4th and long.
They held Philly on the next drive, another 3 nad out, but not enough time remained to score and the final score ended 24-14 PE.

Well done Alex. A good game to read for the first half and then I copped a baseballl bat to the head.  Seems to be happening a lot lately in big games.

Beats, D DS should be coughing up fumbles and ints. as well. That's why I don't use it much.

Martyn wil be happy this week with the Bengals and Titans losing. The DOD just gets tougher!

l think l mentioned last week Titans VS Redskins games are nail biters and this was no exception.

The skins are a solid team with a solid gameplan always have been.

Saying that l think we had a good dose of things go against us and still come up so close l am happy.

You never miss the kicker until he misses two sand wedges which cost you. You never miss the punter until he shankes a 20 yarder which they score off.

1st and goal at the 9 we are normally 9 of 10 to score the TD this was our FG 1 of 10. At 14-6 the FG made it 17-6 it just made it anyones game, 21-6 l think would have put it out of reach.

A key 3rd and 2 in the fourth with a nice matchup might well have given us the go ahead score.

l always seem to have these types of games in the playoffs where a few little things go against me, l hope this is the one so if we make the playoffs its out of the way.

A great game and a great opponent so glad unlike others Arnie has really stayed in the league, because it's the long time coaches battling it out that makes it great.

Well done Alex, Martyn will be well pleased, Tom your team looks like it's getting the post season blues, don't lose that feeling for our game.

Beats, l know how to stop the salad tossers, we kept the AR Cards to 14 points this week and as you know we beat the bolts, it's in how you setup your defence, the question is do l kiss and tell? Should l post my entire defence setup, keys and bonuses for a salad tossers match?

Chiefs VS Eagles for the superbowl an all Adelaide affair!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif

Patsies do what they do best 3 yards and a cloud of dust, these guys are tougher than nails, don't take them lightly or they will roll right over you.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/naughty%20naughty.gif

Texans, when that offence runs well it runs white hot.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/yapyapyap.gif

Jets holding on to a slim WC spot, going to be a nail gun finish.

What a season the NFC looks tight as well, enjoy...

Hope your're right norm, student against the master.
Think we'd both have to take the preceding week off like the real superbowl for all the pregame hype.
here's hoping I get that far...

Hey Norm, Tom - guess what, Martyn is ecstatic!!!

http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/smile.gif  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/rofl.gif

After an awful game against Mike's Cards in the C, I feared the worst this week, but also ensured I stuck in a few "quick and big" plays on O and they paid off handsomely! For my D to restrict the Cardinals hot O to only 1 TD as well, well that was just the icing on the cake!

My old Star Chase and NFLBS mucker Arnie did the business for me, as did Alex who must be odds on to finish 16-0 now and I think we can say goodbye to all this sneaking under the radar rubbish!!!

I still think we'll struggle to win the DOD, I reckon I'll finish 10-6 again and that may not be good enough this season - my advanced teams still blow a bit hot and cold for my liking, world beaters one week, average the next.

So, 12 games gone and only half a game between the Texans, Bengals and Titans! I've played in some tight divisions in my time but never anything like this! Had Marc stuck at the Steelers I dread to think what the DOD would look like, we'd probably all be 7-5 or something! The remaining games between Texans - Bengals and Titans - Bengals are going to be SO hard fought not an inch will be given, players and coaches will really be putting their bodies on the line. If I didn't know I was going to get "Gicked" by those Jets before the season is out I'd be confident of winning the DOD again, now I just don't know. Be warned tho Norm and Tom, I've already told Sarah and the nippers I'm putting my life on hold for AY until the end of the season now - LOL!

your joy and entusiasm for the AY is apparent Martyn, I hope we can get a few more coaches to fill up the divisions, a new coach in Pitt would be awesome!
