Anyone fancy betting against the Eagles?  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/smile.gif

I have a habit of flopping once I make the playoffs, never been in a superbowl, maybe a conference game or two, played in only one advanced playoff game.

Hoping to buck this trend this year!

Two playoff games, one in C and one in AY :

yardage gained = 920 yards
yardage conceded = 546 yards

Lost them both...AAAARRRRGGHH!  It's days like these when you wonder whether all the hard work of taking a team with a crap roster like the Detroit Lions and taking them this far was actually worth it....think I might be sitting out next season in AY and coming back with a better team in 2012... http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20down.gif

Like I said about your C loss, maybe you just need to change your philosophy, and focus less on yards.

Panthers outyarded me completely in this game but I dominated all but the first drive, sounds strange perhaps but true.

I think I am probably more of a purist when it comes to sports...I like to see the team that has the most possession and creates the most goal scoring chances win in football (like Brazil), and in American Football I like to see the team that racks up the most offensive yards win the game...winning a game by having superior special teams almost feels like cheating to me!

The fact that my Lions with such a weak roster outplayed the Falcons with the league's best roster and still lost makes me feel a bit short changed TBH...

Well you certainly are justified in feeling that way!

I really think you are being to ohard on yourself, I think your team has come along in leaps and bounds in your short time here, and all it lacks is consistancy, and IMlimitedX that comes slowly, like after a few seasons.
Teams like the Falcons, Bengals, Eagles, Cards were in your exact same position just a short time ago, a season or ttwo ago, showing glimpses of greatness, but still making mistakes that cost games. Nowadays there wouldn't be a coach around who wouldn't fear playing one of these teams.

A few months or a season passes and weaknessses in gameplans are found and removed, more suitable plays discovered and substituted for underperforming ones, key players mature or are aquired, and before you know it the same gameplan goes 16-0.
