This rather old, rambling thread is for AY coaches to add information about the activity of coaches of NFLAY teams, to help us speculate on which teams are available for new players. Towards the end of the thread will always be a full league rundown with a fairly recent team by team analysis of head coach activity/ availability. If you are interested in this league and the information in the thread has not been updated for a little while please post in this thread requesting an update.
If you have a favourite team you are desperate to play with ask us and one of the forum members in that team's division will be able to guess whether the team is available or not.

Please note if the team you want is not listed in the 24 team rundown then a vacant team in the appropriate division can be relocated tot he franchise you want.

For example at the time of writing this the NFC CEntral has 3 active coaches at Minnesota, Greenbay and Detroit. Chicago is uncoached, and could be relocated to Tampa Bay the week you join if you so desire. For more specific informtion just ask.

Anyone been keeping as close an eye on the special actions as I have? It looked to me that Oakland were on autopilot- but I didn't really believe they were available!

The Jets, Lions Falcons, cowboys and packers haven't had any special actions for a while...
the colts, seahawks, rams and 9ers have had non conclusive special actions in the last few months, any one thought about this at all?

The Packers are surely on autopilot, they've used the same plays over and over again.

I thought the same about the cowboys, their weekly results are usually identical- they must have a great gameplan if this is the case! smile/eek.gif
These are the most recent special actions in the AY, they may be useful for people to determine which teams may need a new coach.

Welcome Nick, glad to have another coach aboard.

The Fins were taken about week 10 last season give or take, and had a great winning streak going by the time week 16 came around, had a very smart offseason, built a great all round roster but haven't lived up to my expectations yet.

from preseason makes me think they were there then. Dunno, guess you'll have to wait and see.
you gave your preference as raiders, dolphins then NFC huh?

I'm guessing that I'll get the Packers, although I did also list the Cowboys as a team I'd like.  Should I get Green Bay, then I'll have to decide whether to keep them there or relocate to Tampa...

If you get the Packers/Buccaneers you will get to play me in week 7 and Paul in week 16, if you get the cowboys the reverse is true.

This week the Packers and Dolphins play, wouldn't that be funny if you got the pack and Nick got the Fins,

True, it would be an interesting coincidence though despite not actually putting in a gameplan for that week.

I was living in horror of being unmasked for the first 4 weeks that the Eagles were on top of our div, nowthe word is out: I'm not a very good gameplan coach!
But I am having enormous fun with the extra options in advanced and with the great chatter with the others in the league- so I'll be patient and wait for my team to be successful.

In the meantime someone has to loose half the games smile/bluewink.gif
5-10 years ago I had to win to make up for the real eagles being poor, nowadays it is the other way around...

Well, yes- but that was back when I was labouring under the misaprehension that I had a good team, when the Eagles were leading the league in rushing yards, or something, not 24th overall.

After the Cowboy loss its back to the drawing board for my offensive coordinator, and McNabb.
There is going to be a hard stretch for both of us in the middle of the season, I have to play the skins and panthers and skins, and you would play bears twice in a 3 game stretch i am guessing with someone good in the middle, like washington perhaps.
I gotta get some offence sorted by then or am going to be making some teams look really good!

With all the hype that is AY, I'm thinking about giving Advanced another go.

You made my day!
Its a great week to join, with Graham, Nick and Derrick already having sent team requests to Danny, Sam joining only last week and a couple of others mulling it over, namely Martyn Williams and Jon Gick.
What a great time to be a head coach in the AY!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/grin.gif
PS I have sent you an email, suggesting you look here to find a list of teams, compare rosters then send your preferences to danny before the deadline this week on the 7th July.

Jon Gick, who I hope will come here and join up soon, is planning to ask danny for the Cowboys this week.

Not sure what I'm going to do at the moment. If I decided to join up then I would want the Packers. I see maybe they are uncoached, but also see that a new coach has also enquired about Green Bay.

the Lions were also on my initial list of teams with few special actions lately, and it seems quite likely that Graham, who has already requested the packers as his first choice and I think dallas as the second, would be willing to move the team to tampa so you could move to Green Bay?

Maybe Graham could ask for the Lions and move them to Tampa which would leave the Pack. Maybe this would be easier than moving 2 franchises?

I think he was't crazy about the Lions roster, but I will email you both so you have eachother's email and you can do some convincing (assuming these teams are indeed uncoached)

Ok.....Having thought about my options and looked at the rosters, I've asked Danny for the Chargers as they are my second favourite team behind the Packers. I asked him if it were possible to move the Seahawks to San Diego. I also put down the Packers as my second choice simply because I had to make a second choice, knowing that Graham would be getting them anyway. The reply I got from Danny was.......ok, will sort out a team. From this, I'm assuming that I'm the head coach at San Diego (was Seattle).
