Hi All,

If you have submitted orders once, can you re-submit after that? If so can you submit your offence orders and a couple of days later submit your defence orders.......My reasons for asking are that as taken over a new team...i'd like to make a lot of changes to the plan, but i'm geting alot of time-outs on the website & would like to inform Danny , but before I do that I'de like to hear from the rest of the more experienced coaches here ! Thanks.

below this thread is a way to avoid getting time outs.

I occasionally resubmit instructions, but for darkages not GP, when I change my mind, but I always change every box, so I don't know if the old stuff stays in.

Jayoshanks,

NO you cannot submit a defence one day and an offence the next.
NO you cannot submit part turnsheets.

lf you get timed out or something happens and you don't submit your orders correctly you have to RE submit them ALL not part.

Once you hit the submit button at the bottom what orders you have entered are your gameplan.

lf you enter more orders say, you notice a mistake and actually submit three sets of orders ie you actually RE type your orders in full three times and submit them GM will use the latest set of orders (last one you submit) for your turn and you will be charged extra for the extra GM effort to process the turn.

l don't have time out problems l use broadband not sure if dial up makes a difference.

l have an A4 book with hard covers l use that as my turnsheet workings book, each game l do 99% of it in that book, check it in that book, double check it, then the final 1% is just entering it into softsim. l used to be an accountant and auditor crazy with figures, especially pamie.

FTR timeouts happen on ADSL too.

Yep, I get timeouts too and I am on broadband.  Generally a webpage will give you a timeout if you don't submit anything (i.e. click a button to send data to the webserver) within either 20 or 30 mins depending upon the website's settings.  I haven't tried it myself, but if you are taking longer than 20 mins to type in all your orders, it might be worth entering an invalid value in one of the boxes and pressing the Submit button.  This will submit the page and return an error so that you will then get a further 20 mins to complete the rest of your orders.

Cheers,

Mike

The softsim site has a tendency to time you out when you've been there far less than 20 minutes. I like Mike's suggestion of deliberately entering an invalid value (something that had crossed my mind previously), but I think I've found a foolproof method of beating the timeout agony. When it says you've timed out and asks you to log back in, do so and then click on the 'Back to last page' button (possibly twice - can't remember) - this should take you back to your completed orders which will then be accepted when you click on the Submit button.

Check the other thread for a way to fix timeout errors, works for me every time so far.
