DEFINITELY 32...I have been tearing my hair out this week trying to plan for the Colts and also keep in mind that I will only be able to change 8 lines if I get through to a clash with the Chargers or Browns.  The Colts have a massively different approach to the game than the Chargers or Browns, and I don't think it will be possible to win consecutive playoff game against the Colts and then the Chargers/Browns.

Only been able to change 8 lines in the playoffs is quite frankly a joke...I would be willing to sign any petition to change this.

I agree. 32 lines for me, every time.

You could fax a full rewrite over, Mike?

Dan,

I sent Danny an email about this about a week ago, and unfortunately he will not allow anybody to submit a full re-write during the playoffs, even if they pay an extra credit.

I like the idea of having only a few lines to change in the playoffs, it really puts a premium on having a good flexible gameplan in place during the season and before the playoffs, and to win on the basis of you gp rather than some big trick of changing things as a surprise.
Wouldn't mind 32 but have no problem with 8 ATM (though I don't have much playoff exp.)

Did he say why? Seems a bit daft...

Seems quite sensible to me - either everyone gets 32 lines or nobody does.

Myself and Alex (and AN Other) are obviously in the minority here, but I'm in favour of only being allowed to change 8 lines in the play-offs. In fact, I'd even go one step further and say I'd be quite happy to see that restriction apply to the whole season.

8-lines....yeah right... if I were 12-0 and the rest of the league was a given...then i'm sure everyone of us could come up with a great gameplan to adjust for the playoffs (in terms of sorting).....but in all fairness...you go through 16 weeks with max lines..so why should the playoffs be different....

I'd agree as long as it was consistant....IMHO you cant show the leg and then take it away.....thats BullS%!T IMO......and needs to be looked at....

I absolutely, 100% believe that the whole turnsheet should be available for EVERY game!!

http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif

I see no logical reason why it should reduce to just 8 lines for playoffs/post season games.

This has been discussed before under a different thread. Originally, before online submittal, you could only change 8 lines a turn unless you paid an extra credit, to save our poor GMs some work (I believe if you play by post this is still the case). The real problem now is, IMO, that it should be 8 or 32 ALL THE TIME, to have 32 during the season, get used to playing that way, and then for the most important games suddenly only have 8 (allegedly so postal players aren't at a disadvantage) is just daft - are they not at a disadvantage during the regular season then?! I also think there is an issue with the post season turnsheets being too big for softsim for all 32 lines + draft choices, special actions etc, making it too slow for non-broadband users or something. Surely there must be a way around that though? Ideally, IMO it should be 32 all the time, not becuase I want to do a total rewrite every game (I rarely do change much unless I'm playing a div opponent). But if one week you play someone who primarily runs inside, then the next someone who primarily runs outside, you should be able to change this in all your D situations if you want, this isn't a major rewrite just a small change to your D approach for that game, regardless of how many situations you actually need to change...
