I'm pretty sure I recall Tom calling it, but then I think that was when they were the only 2 unbeaten teams in the league, so not as adventurous a call as it might sound - I wonder if he changed his mind when the Colts slumped out of the top 2 seeds? Personally I'm still gutted that the Chargers threw it away against the Patriots in the Divisional round. Slightly different situation I know, but when I saw Jackson take the dive after his interception to kill Sunday's game off, all I could think was "Now why couldn't McCree have had the sense to do that last week?". He wasn't the only one to make a dumb mistake that day, but that was the killer. I'm very biased here as San Diego are one of my favourite teams, but I really think that if they'd have held on against the Pats and got the rust out of their system then they'd have been more than a match for the Colts. Oh well, Colts-Bears it is! Can't say I really care much for either team, but I agree it'll be interesting to see how Manning holds up against the Bears D - my guess is that the comeback against the Pats will prove a watershed for Peyton and he'll be MVP, with Grossman disintegrating under the pressure on the other side. Not sure the Colts have totally fixed their run defence problem though and that would spell big trouble against the Bears if Grossman can provide at least a half-decent passing threat. | |||
