Being a Dallas fan happy that Dallas signed Leonard Davis to a long term deal. Even though he never lived up to the expectations of the number 2 overall pick for the Cardinals, he is a massive upgrade on the Dallas O-line. The signing of Brad Johnson has also kept an experienced QB behind Romo.

Has anyone seen what is happening with the Bears??? They slap LB briggs with the franchise tag and now he wants out of Chicago. Rumours that RB Jones is to be traded to the Jets for a second round pick, and the fact that it took the Bears so long to negotiate a new deal for coach Smith has a lot of people scratching their heads when it comes to the bears. something tells me it will be a tall order for the Bears to be good again next season with so much offseason turmoil.

The word on the street is that it is a done deal for Jones to the Jets for a second round pick. Great for the Jets, but not so sure what the upside for the bears is.

Confirmed today on NFL.com I think the Jets have a great deal here. My tip is that Chicago will splutter with Cedric Benson as their starter. He has injury concerns as well as an attitude problem that I would have dealt with by trading him instead of Jones. In my view Jones is a stud and Benson is a dud.

Tom,

Your opinion on Benson isn't a lone one. Numerous people on ESPN that have watched the Bears agree that trading Benson would have been the smarter move and the Bears will pay the price next season when they have Benson full time (and probably struggling with injuries and the pressure of being the number 1 back).

Have been noticing that the 49ers are signing up a virtually new defence. Will be interesting to see if they gel enough to take them from a 7-9 team to the playoffs.

Also noticed that Trent Green may be traded by the Chiefs. Huard has been signed to a new deal meaning that Green may be available for a trade. There would be numerous teams that would love to have Green behind centre while they groom a new QB. Considering Greens age a few years might be all he has left but he should be very productive if he avoids injuries.

Holy crap - I cannot understand this trade at all.  What are Buffalo playing at?

Don't know what Buffalo are thinking, but the Ravens must be ecstatic to have this guy as their new running back. They offloaded Lewis after realising finally that his best is behind him and replaced him with a younger runner. Try and tell me that McGahee won't be motivated next season to gain 1200+ yards. That would be scary with the Ravens D, McNair behind centre and McGahee in the backfield.
