just watched the movie 300 the other day at the beginning i thougt that maybe this wasn't quite my thing (maybe because i am 14900 (days old give or take a few))but then it progressed and got better with all the battle scences etc (though the rhino and elephant attacks were a bit ummm over the top)having said this i did end up enjoying the movie but this is not a movie review and off the point (and for those that have read my stuff in here before no i am not drinking,smoking or partaking in any illicit substance at the moment)but i thought well there has always been this testosterone thing of combativeness amoungst men and this primal gladatorial form has always been fasinating which really happened in ancient europe and europes settlers settled the world so it is a wonder that american football really hasn't been so successful globally as it really is as close as you get to any of that sort of stuff with giants of men, madmen (usually linebackers) thinkers and highly agile and skilled armoured up go toe to toe,regroup and do it again and again and again

great point, gridiron seems unique to me as it attracts and provides for the thinkers amoung us and the gung-ho testosterone nuts.
(though I'm sure I know which one the GP coaches fall in).
