Hi Al,  I watched this a few weeks ago and couldn't help thinking of you - I could imagine you auditioning for the role!

I too enjoyed the film.  I think the fact that it was a true story enhanced the enjoyment too.

I looked up some oft he details in my "Sunday Warriors" book, a complete history of every game played by the eagles up until about the early 1990s, and there are a couple of artistic liberties, he wasn't recruited in an open tryout, but had played 2 seasons with the World Football LEague's Philadelphia Bell, had ran track in college but no football, and was the oldest rookie at 30 yo.
In the week 2 game vs giants (last part of the moovie) he did recover a fumble on punt coverage that handed Vermiel his first ever win, but he didn't score in that game, so his recovery would have set up a score instead according to my book's descrïption of that game (also lists the scorers of every point in eagles games, very handy reference).
2 small changes though in the overall scheme of things and a thoroughly enjoyable movie.
