This is for anyone interested in playing Russian Campaign or War in Europe via e-mail.  Both are World War 2 games that were boardgames that have been updated for e-mail play.
Russian Campaign covers the German Invasion of Russia in 1941 on corps/army scale.  War in Europe covers the whole of World War 2 in Europe/North Africa with divisional scale units.

Sorry Tom, i missed this post.  As Al said, I am an old war games buff of a few decades now, i would be definately interested in playing both.  Are they old Jedko games done for email Tom?  I have the Russian Campaign boardgame at home, a golden oldie.  Paul would you be keen?

You are spot on, "Russian Campaign" is an old Jedko game.  It is now up to 4th edition with updated maps and counters.  Cost = $115 I think. There are even expansion kits that cover Turkey and the middle east "what if" scenarios.

The best part is that the 4th ed. comes with a CD that has all the maps and stuff.  I've only just bought it and am still learning it but I think that you do your moves and atttacks/retreats and then e-mail the results to the other person.  There is a fair amount of honesty involved and in tournament play you have to e-mail your moves first and get approval before you attack.

There is another game "Korsun Pocket" which is a German breakout on the Russian front in 1943/4.  This one is the real deal in terms of playability. It highlights available hexes that you are allowed to move to and has awesome AI for solitare play from the reviews.  Will get this in the next few months.

"War in Europe" was an old SPI game that was developed soon after "War in The East".  There is an old computer version which I have had trouble loading on my computer. The new edition is due out in June which I have pledged a copy for.  This is a 3 player game Russia, Germany + Axis , and the Allies.  I have two other guys who are also very keen to play and they have had a number of games between themselves.  Russ Wyne and Dave Ryan both used to work at Military Simulations in the old days.

Sounds great, you can count me in. http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif
I have put my board war gaming on hold the last few years, with young kids and little space, i didn't fancy my boys curiosity getting game pieces getting lost, so this is a great alternative for me.  i didn't know they had developed a few of the old Jedko games, sounds cool.
Good to see a few others on board too, being old Mil Sims guys they would almost certainly be old salts.  I can't beleive hwo much Mil Sims has grown over the years, remembered going there with my dad in the 70's to some old shed in the backblocks selling all sorts of games to crusty wargamers.
