Ever wondered whether there’s more to life than Gameplan? Surely not? Well there is and more specifically there’s something a bit different.

Front Office Football is based around roster building over time and, as such, complements, not rivals, GP. It’s about player development from the rookie draft and about cap management as your star players demand ever more money.

The league has run 2 full seasons now and comprises 16 GP and Gameplan Baseball players as GMs.

We were 7 to being with (me, Tricey, Nick Sims, Alan & Gordon Milnes, Kevin Sweeny and Rob Byrne) and have since added 9 more (Graham Beaton, Stuart Guard, David Alsford, Paul Denyer, Peter Kneil, Darren Birtchnell, Troy Dilworth, Bo Mayfield & Mark Gamble) at varying stages from season 1 off-season to just before the start of this year’s draft (where Mark came in just in time to make the first selection of the draft for his new team the Panthers.

The game is $25 (approx £16) and that’s all that needs to be paid. Our multiplayer game can be played with a normal dial up modem so no fancy IT needed. We run turns twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays).

We have a website (which is continuing in its development!) which can be found at:

http://www.tricey.net/rdfl/site/

there’s not much on it currently as we’re in the offseason

And a forum at:

http://www.tricey.net/rdfl/forum/

To help get started I’ve written a beginner’s guide which can be found at:

http://www.tricey.net/rdfl/site/A%20Beginners%20Guide%20to%20FOF.pdf

It really is good fun and with the draft in progress it’s the ideal time to get in the mix and start outbidding and wheeling and dealing.

If you’re interested drop me a line at rdfl@tricey.net.

Marc.

I can’t praise Marc & David enough for the excellent work they have done (and continue to do), with this league!!  Its well worth joining.  In fact, I’ve had so much fun with this league that I’ve even joined a US based league that runs opposite to the RDFL, just to fill in the time between RDFL turns!  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/smile.gif

It sounds a great game and I'm also tempted (I've always enjoyed the roster management side of Madden Franchise mode and FOF sounds like a much advanced version of this), but as I only have PC access at work, I'm afraid it's a non-starter for me. Maybe one day I'll get myself a home PC and join in the fun ...

Jon you really have to get with the program and get your own PC! There is so much great stuff out there that demands attention, like TerryHatcher.com, no seriously there is a lot of great shit around. I have only had a notebook for 2 years but it is the best investment I ever made.
Desktops are as cheap as chips and you can buy 2nd hand ones for peanuts.
