A very big welcome to A7's newest recruits, having been in A7 since day one I'm so chuffed to see the league returning to former glories! A7 now has between 8 and 11 coached teams - the only team I know is defo uncoached is Dave Marsdin's Tigers. Also think Jay is no longer at LSU. I think Ray and Dom are still around but maybe not showing the interest of past seasons given their recent records. A shame as these two are old college masters! (while I'm the new college master - LOL!). Good luck for the new season guys, here's hoping its a "ripper"! --Last edited by Martyn Williams on 2007-02-10 17:37:54 --

Hello coaches. I just wanted to email you all & wish you luck for the season - except when you play me! ![]() If you've read my newsletter for the league, then you'll notice that I've got a section dedicated to the Heisman trophy. For this to work, I'll need you to email me the stats for you offensive players each week. As an example, I have the stats for my week 1 game below: Rushing Cardinals: Smith 4-10, Bush 22-114-1, Cantwell 6-29 Cornhuskers: Curtis 13-32, Ross 39-200-1, Taylor 6-40 Passing Cardinals: Cantwell 19-28-1-315-3 Cornhuskers: Taylor 6-10-1-77-1 Receiving: Cardinals: Douglas 6-102-1, Jones 4-138, Barnidge 7-60-2, Bush 2-15 Cornhuskers: Nunn 3-55, Williams 1-16, Ross 2-6-1 I dont mind if you cannot / dont want to email these stats to me, but I can only consider Heisman candidates that I have a full record of stats for. Its not an essential part of the newsie to have this, but I just thought it'd add a bit of fun to the league. Having the stats will also help me with my weekly round up. Also, Alan has very kindly set up a website for us to rank each team after every turn. My intention is to use these rankings & the league table to create BCS rankings for the league. You can find this website at the following address: http://www.college.gameplan.org.uk/polls/ Your contribution to this would be very much appreciated. Thats it guys, sorry for the very long email!! lol. Regards, Graham.

In the meantime just pop [NCAA7] at the start of the thread subject lines so people in NCAA7 can see the relavent threads if you develop more than one etc. Then when they start filling up this section I'll create you a separate one and port it over there.

would you guys be able to send me a copy of the Notre Dame & Michigan rosters? (I'm just after the names.) The one from your league round up would be better - as it wont give away what strengths your team has.

While I’m happy that you got a favourite player of yours on the roster, I’ve got to admit I’m a bit surprised too. I’d have thought Danny might have a more up-to-date roster list by now.

Not going to mention anything to Danny as would love to keep Montana at QB for as long as possible. This might be a case of Notre Dame not being used for a long time. There is a massive amount of college teams and maybe Notre Dame might be one of those less supported teams so the roster database has not been updated as much as it should have been. I know that the NFL teams have rosters sometime 2 seasons behind when you update the roster names as a whole, looks like the college game is decades behind going by the Notre Dame roster.

Does anybody else here use the Statsheet for the A7 league? I do but noticed some very weird numbers!! According the the statsheet, Akron (44 yards), have the leagues #1 run game, while Nebraska (who had more than 270 yards), are only ranked #4. I can only think that Akron getting 2 TDs & Nebraska getting 1 has a major bearing on the rankings?!

hmmm looks like we have a little way to go to get this team up to speed these are colledge players you think with their sharp minds they could adjust to the pro style offences and defences we are putting in a bit quicker the challenge is certainly there for us but may look to install the system and hope for a top 4 maybe next season (though not giving up on the hope of doing it this season just yet) anyway congratulations to the wildcats who have really shown us the challenge that lays ahead of us for the rest of the season

Hang in there guys. Your team looked like it played pretty well, but just got unlucky as K-State was on top form. I’ve awarded them the ‘offence of the week’ title in the latest newsie (official preview there!), so it just proves what you were up against! As stated in my preview, the Wildcats had to find a run game to help open up the pass. They certainly did that & it paid off big time. On another day, you may have held them to the season average 1.7 a time & forced them to pass often – which would have given you amble opportunity for turnovers. I hope you don’t bounce back too quickly though, as you play my Louisville side next week! We need to bounce back from the mauling Miami gave us if we are to keep on track for a final four spot. With current form, it looks like Miami, New Mexico & Georgia Tech could well be the bookies favourites to compete for the national title spots. After that, who knows! Keep an eye on Akron though, as they are not a 1-2 team!

Well this college game has me real interested at the moment. Hopefully can get Notre Dame in the win column sooner rather then later. First loss was poor, this week showed some improvement. Outgained the opposition by a mile but conceeded too many special teams plays and big pass plays at critical times to keep the game interesting. The Notre Dame defence is terrible at the moment, while the offence looks on the improve. 0-3 definitely has us out of the bowl hunt but hopefully we can start producing victories before the end of the season. Hoping for a mid table finish, but that might be a bit optimistic at the moment.

well sam i am also enjoying this game congratulations beats but TBH i did expect to lose as i respect your ability very much i think it was a good move forward for the wolf pups though and we are picking things up the turning point was your converted 4th down (even though mike had a fairly good call in there for it) should be good next round sam as we match up for the 1st time in what could be a great rivalry seeing as both our teams started on the same week --Last edited by greg salmon on 2007-03-23 22:11:04 --
