As the Magpies look to have the fourth seed, looks like Dud will be hosting my Magpies. Seeing as we have already lost to them twice this season, the run in the playoffs should be short lived. Week 14 lineups.... DUD Rivers, Philip QB SD Johnson, Larry RB KC Parker, Willie RB PIT Wayne, Reggie WR IND Williams, Roy WR DET Heap, Todd TE BAL Stover, Matt K BAL Bears, DST DST CHI Magpies Romo, Tony QB DAL Henry, Travis RB TEN Taylor, Fred RB JAC Glenn, Terry WR DAL Harrison, Marvin WR IND Witten, Jason TE DAL Elam, Jason K DEN Steelers, DST DST PIT Barring some major injuries or players being rested looks like DUD should be able to progress to the big game. --Last edited by Sam on 2006-12-12 20:41:13 --

Playoffs? Woohoo! Time for this team to fall on it's arse. It's put up scary numbers but we've been beaten well while still scoring big ourselves. Cod: Brady and Johnson. Crap. Longshots: Young, Bush, Houshmandzadeh, Owens. And beaten me already. Magpies: Romo and Harrison. Perhaps some interesting juggling ahead. But since they haven't yet, no doubt will knock me off. Just glad to have had the headache of choosing who to pick more often than not. My bench has scored well. Only problem has been QB. |

Like always in Fantasy I tend to stuff my roster full of players who could make or break, so by this time of season the wheat and the chaff should be separated. I've only made changes about once every 4 weeks or more, so I guess I got lucky with the guys I picked up early on like McCallister and Reggie Brown. I'm still spewing that I bloody accidently took Brady at #2 overall to have Branch holdout and screw him for most games this year, although he's been ok statwise, certainly hasn't carried the team or anything, plus the fact taht my what #3 round pick was BRANCH, and he's this week gonna play his first game of the season at the #1 position- what a clusterfuck that was. Westbrook has carried the team with a revolving door of WRs and of course super kicker Graham, who was the star of my last year's team the Berri Elite. Might have to pay closer attention next weekend.

I'm still not totally sold on Young TBH - I brought him in for last week as Bulger was up against the Bears and Favre was coming off a bit of an iffy game, but in the event they both outscored young Vince. He's up against pretty solid defences for the next 2 weeks, so I'm pretty unlikely to start him again. I won't be releasing him though - don't want to give Alex a chance to replace that loser Brady! As for our chances against the mighty Dud, we may have beaten them in the regular season, but that was one of only four times we managed to outscore them. We did manage it twice in the last 3 weeks though - mind games, mind games!

Young iffy? I've been riding the wave that is Phillip Rivers most of the season. Bloody hell QB has been a nightmare position for me. I tried to pick Young up that week and you stole him out from under me. Friggin last pick! I certainly think it's interesting with the teams left. I'm happy with the season so far and I have to be, because it could be over very soon. It's very easy to get blown out of the water in this game. On the notes of changing players, I swapped around with QBs, kickers and a little bit at TE. But mostly just at QB. Not much need to change at Dud. |

Ah, see I knew my team could go out there and underachieve. |

well my annoyance with branch continues, he got only 54 yards, 5 points, and I Benched Reggie Brown to make room for him this week, and Reggie got 13 points. At least I'm winning with Chad Johnson and Shane Graham yet to play.

romo played well. the inconsistency that is travis henry continues, and the loss of taylor early in the game looked bleak for the magpies. thankfully the steelers D of old returned and racked up some great numbers to prove a difference. with the only players left to play being wayne (dud) and harrison (magpies) and 30+ points difference, surely the bengals D can't give up too much to the colts passing game. here's hoping the bengals run all day and suck up all the time off the clock and win a close one without conceding 100 yards to a colts receiver or any TD's, other then to harrison of course.

Ah well - it was a good run while it lasted. Still can't believe Favre had such a bad day against the Lions - I thought he was odd-on to at least make it into double figures. My only (slight) consolation is that Bulger & Young also had stinkers. Let's be honest I would never have started him, but it was still a bit galling to see Cutler (the guy I cut without playing) put up the points I needed this week! Still I'm not totally out of it yet, but I think I'll need the Colts to decide to triple-team Chad Johnson and leave Housh wide-open for a couple of TDs. Oh and Graham's radar to be off for the day. I need a Christmas miracle! ... which is less than what Paul needs! A real shock to see the clear favourite beaten so comprehensively, but I guess that's Fantasy for you! Your team outscored everybody pretty much every week, Paul - what a time for them to put in their worst performance! Anyway, congrats to both Alex and Sam for upsetting the odds - I wouldn't even begin to guess who's going to win this one! --Last edited by Jon G on 2006-12-18 23:19:01 --

Yep. Not even sure what our final points tally was but it was over early. On Willie Parker got any points. What amazes me is that the team did so well for so long to have it's worst week this week. |

The Cod are declared league champions after a 69-69 tie in the final game, the only thing I can think of is maybe the tie was brocken by my bench scoring more, or previous performances or something, how strange...

you got the title as you were a division winner and I was a wildcard. always a gamble having so many cowboys players in there when they were up against the eagles in a match that would decide the NFC East. Should have known better. Making matters worse was the fact that the magpies were up by 10 at the half only to see most of that lead erode with that 65 yard completion to LJ Smith early in the third quarter. Romo decided to throw a few picks and the times that he found the right receiver, Owens kept dropping the damn thing. Going into the last minute we were up 69-68 until Westbrook gained a small amount of yards. wasn't match but was enough to push him past another 10 yards to get the tie. tough way to lose the big one, but their has to be a winner and congrats goes to Alex. That is two in a row I have lost in fantasy leagues. hopefully next year can be a winner for once.

Congrats Alex (and of course commis Sam). 69-69 - what a nailbiter to finish the season with!
