What a game!!!! Down 17-3 at half time and thinking we would get blown away in the second half. FG then interception return for 66 yards and 2 point conversion gets us back to 17-14 and game on.

Things are tight late in the 4th quarter and the score remains 17-14 Bears. Chicago QB fumbles the ball on his own 31 yard line and the Dallas D takes possession. 8 plays later and the Dallas offence punches it in for the go ahead TD making the score 21-17 with 58:23 gone.

Dallas kick the ball off to the Chicago 25 to see the Chicago special teams return the kick 45 yards

Chicago start their drive on the Dallas 35. Dallas D gets a sack on the first play sending Chicago back to the 43. Chicago's next play takes them to the Dallas 32 but then give up a penalty to take the back to the 37. Pass incomplete on the next play making it Chicago 4th and 12 on the Dallas 37. All comes down to this play.....Chicago gains 8 yards but not enough. Ball turned over to Dallas with 44 seconds remaining. Clock winds down and the Cowboys win 21-17.

Cowboys now up against who other then Dave's Dolphins in the Superbowl. Dave, will let you do a rundown of your game (even though looks like the Broncos were absolutely destroyed by your offence and defence).

Well, looks like the old AY West divisonal rivals have another game against each other. With the series tied at 1-1 will be real interesting to see how this one goes. There is only a championship in it for the winner!

Only way can see the Cowboys winning this one is if the Dolphins implode/choke. Think I used up all my luck in the second half against the Bears. Still, really looking forward to doing the plan for this game...and hopefully the Cowboys can keep the title in the NFC for another season.

Also noticed that Greg has bragging rights over Martyn after the Cards defeated the Rams 13-9.

Also, Danny placed an add in the results section for my website. Fingers crossed that some of the other coaches make their way to the website and to this forum.

First of all, my hearty congrats to you Sam on a MAGNIFICENT come from behind victory, that must surely rate amongst your finest coaching moments.  As you said, down 17-3 at the half, on the road against the almighty defending champion Chicago Bears, the writing appeared to be on the wall.  I would have loved to see your stirring half time speach, it must have been gold!  You mentioned the huge interception return, but was there a general change in momentum in the second half?

Sets up an absolutely fascinating Superbowl.  My Dolphins probably go in as the Bookie's favourites, but the Cowboy defence in particular will be the key to the game IMHO.  they play to their best, they will give the Dolphin offence a torrid time.  Both defences have had a wonderful playoff series, and the Superbowl figures to be another defensive trenchfight.

The Miami/Denver AFC Championship game turned out to be a real fizzer.  Miami opened with a 80yd drive, culminating in HB Ricky Williams 9yd scamper into the endzone for a 7-0 lead.  The next 23 minutes was a defensive armwrestle, with the Dolphins moving the ball, but the hardy Bronco defence stood up tall at key moments to keep the game tight.  Denver's offence on the other hand was put to sleep by a ferocious Miami defence, and struggled to move the ball at all.  Miami finally broke the game open with a rapid 10 points late in the half to go to a 17-0 lead at the break.
The second half was a pretty dour affair, the plucky Denver defence defying the odds to keep Miami's long drives our of the redzone.  Any chance for a Denver comeback was ruthlessly put to bed, with the Broncos making one first down in the final 3 quarters.  All in all, a great performance by Miami, although there are areras where they can work on particularly on offence.  A week after taking a baking by the Florida press for offensive tactics in last weeks Divisional game vs the Steelers, HC Flesfader went back to the drawing board to get things back on track.

No real change in momentum. Even though we were down 17-3 the difference was the Bears D returning an INT for a TD. Otherwise the game was a lot closer then the scoreline. The Cowboys pretty much did to the Bears in the second half what was done to us in the first half. Thankfully it was enough for the win.

Would have to say this is the best result I have had, normally expect the worst when down so much going into the second half against such a strong team.

As for the half time talk...lets just say a lot of expletives were used. When I went down 17-3 with the INT return for a TD I think my neighbour heard me getting ready for the halftime talk...

Hopefully the Cowboys can keep up with the Dolphins in the Superbowl. Have some definite concerns looking at the rosters but made it this far with my roster so must be doing something good. Have a few things in store for you Dave and in keeping with my playoff mentality this season....all or nothing!

Congratulations guys, promises to be a great Super Bowl and I'll be looking on with interest from the sidelines!

It was an interesting game between Greg and I, I didn't exactly put in my base GP, especially on D, but I did put in one I thought could win. I learnt a lot about what this team will and more likely won't be doing next season! I've already started to hate my 3* QB, I think it'll be quite a challenge for me to get consistent results on O next year.

Congrats Greg, look forward to the rematch!
