The balance of power seemed to swing back to normal this week in the NFC. The Bears returned to the winners list with a dominant win over the lions.  The Cowboys and Cards are duking it out in the East, Arizona have not missed a beat since their superb Superbowl run last season and Dallas are showcasing their suped up offence.
Well done to Martyn's Rams, they had a strong win over Tom's Falcons. The Rams put the Falcons to the sword early, before Atlanta stormed back to get within a TD, but the Rams under their master coach held their nerve to record a strong win.  By the way Martyn, thanks for nearly drawing my son to tears with the loss, he was actually quite disappointed! lol  Had to explain that they were playing a master coach and the effort was very good.  nice to see the passion already! http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif

In the AFC, its a pity Jason has vacated his Chiefs, as he has left them in great shape.  Two strong wins in a row, and the Tribe will need to bank every win they can as the Chargers rebuild the franchise.  Goz opened his Gb account with an important early win and keep them in touch while they get their list the way they want it.  Ravens continue to look good after a thrashing of the Titans.  the surprise has been the drop off of the Steelers, who slumped to another loss at the hands of the Bengals this time.  Patriots have also showed improvement too, and also remain undefeated after a narrow win over the Jets.

Was a tad suprised at the Dolphins massive win, the offence lapped up the great work by the defence in a game that everything came all together.  Pleased to have the team firing early, but have a reality check in the Ravens in week 3 facing them.

How did everyone find their games?

Dallas looked like they would rack up a huge scoreline only to lay off in the second half, settling for FG's. Bit of a disappointment but the signs are encouraging for the offence with two 30+ scores in back to back weeks. Of course, the runback for a defensive TD was my favourite moment in the game but all in all was a solid performance. Passing game was adequate and did the job and the running game was workmanlike. Not many first downs but we won the field position battle most times and our punter had an absolute blinder pinning them deep on numerous occasions.

Annoyed that appears the Cardinals have not missed a beat and racked up a huge win this week. The games against them this year will be huge and go a long way to determining who will take out the east (Dallas of course!).

Good first up win for Goz and his Chargers. They will more then likely rack up a huge winning streak now as Goz comes to terms with the new squad.

Fles, will have to check this one out, but you may in fact have racked up the most points in a game for the GB since I started in the 2004 season. 61 points is huge and a real eye opener for the rest of us.

Arno loses another close on but the Seahawks have been notorious slow starters and he still has plenty of time to start them on their way to another playoff appearance.

Noticed that Tom's Falcons lost to the Rams. No shame in that. Looks like he put in a good fight and will be a definite dark horse in the NFC. Rams may be favourites for the West crown, but the Falcons should be fighting all the way.

A big win for my Rams against the young pretender! You can tell Tom that I was very impressed with his GP and the effort those dirty birds put in, I'm certainly worried about the rematch already! Sorry if I upset him but good to see he cares! http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif I'm sure as he learns the game he'll have as much success as the old Aussie master himself, his old man!!! As you say he shouldn't be too hard on himself, he did himself proud against an old "Master" (your words not mine!!!) who's enjoyed a fair bit of success in this game over the last 7 years or so!

Elsewhere the usual pretenders are setting their stall out early, can't wait already for my clashes with the Cowboys and Cardinals this season!!!
