Mike, don't know if you've already played the Lions or not, but if that's who I get, I'm likely to make them worse rather than improve them (at least in the short term, not long term I hope!).

Looking forward to facing you as well, as the only chance of a game in AY would be a meaningless pre-season meeting. For the same reason, I'm hoping I can get a game against the Dolphins to see how the mighty Coombe Offence operates.

Jon,

The NFLC website has a team page for each team with an active coach and it lists fixtures, results, rosters etc.  So if you were wanting to know if you're going to be playing certain teams if you get the Lions, just go to the main page (www.lovelyjubbly.info/gameplan/main.aspx) and click on the logo of the team whose fixtures you want to see.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, we both know that this is the most likely match-up, but I was hoping to continue drifting under the radar for the time being and not stir up the AY big shots just yet. You've just blown our cover, you fool!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/rofl.gif
Greg, playing you twice a season in AY is already enough - don't think I could stand 4 games every year!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/funny%20face.gif
I'm hoping I get the Lions as they're my favourite NFC team and I'm dropping my BG Lions to play in C (think 5 teams might be a bit much to cope with!), but their results suggest that perhaps they already have a coach, so who knows I may yet end up in NY once again.

Welcome to the NFLC Jon!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/salut.gif

Looks like you've landed on your feet, with a top roster and a playoff spot that's yours to lose (no pressure mate)!  Only Buffalo and possibly Minnesota look like being uncoached playoff teams, so the playoffs are gonna be fiercely contested!

Yes - they are looking rather good, aren't they?  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/smile.gif
I honestly didn't know what a fantastic roster they had when I first got the idea of picking them up - I just had a preference for the Lions whatever state they were in. Guess I lucked out on that one!

I've also got 34LPs to spend. Normally if I joined a league this late in the season, I'd probably save those to soften the inevitable off-season destruction, but I may have to think about spending them this season to improve our play-off chances. Decisions, decisions ...

The Redskins will be available for the coming season.

They should still be in decent shape for anybody wanting to take them on as their roster is around the 80 mark at the moment.

When we all started at the end to middle of last season and at the beginning of this season. I would have to admit that I would have said no. But, with the number of new coaches who have joined and the overall quality of the coaches who have joined, this league is definitely on the up and is certainly no walk in the park any longer! The coaches who have joined during the season will have their rosters in much better shape for next season and the competition will be fierce! I am only leaving as I am in the process of leaving gameplan, otherwise I would definitely be staying as this league is only going one way and that is up!

If you join, I'm sure you'd love it! Good luck!

Even if I do say it myself, I think the league has a really good website, with lots of coaches producing articles such as the AFC Review, NFC Review, Superbowl Odds, stats and predictions, making it a real team effort.  Apart from Troy, all the coaches who use the forum have confirmed that they will be back next season (Goz, Fles/Alex, Sam, Greg, Mike T-P, Alan, Jon, Martyn and myself), so there is plenty of competition, and I'm sure we'll get some more new coaches before the start of next season as more coaches become aware of the league with the league results now being on Gordon and Alan's website.  Which teams were you thinking about taking over?

Norm,

With the Steelers and possibly Jags in the central available why not jump back into the central with one of these teams and move them to Tennessee in the offseason. Would love to have you in the Central with my Bengals and Mike P's division winning Texans. Any team in the AFC would be great as would have a chance to play against you each season. Better be quick though, week 14 just passed and draft is coming very soon. Both the Steelers and the Jags would have picks around 8-12 in the draft so have decent picks to start with.

The presence on the old Goetz master int he AFC might just make mne pay some attention to the NFLC as oposed to it being just my fortnightly wednesday night activity.

Please not the Falcons Norm - it's tough enough playing you twice each season in AR and AY!!!

http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/rofl.gif

Seriously, great to see you join the C, definitely a league on the up but not with the same "pressure" as AR and AY (thank God!)
