That was the final version of the new stormin system defence in the  Colts saddle bags this week, next week it goes into the AY and the following week into AR, l mentioned pre match l was not sure how anyone was actually going to score against it, hell l was half joking, the adjustments have really exceeded my own expectations. This defence reminds me of the 85' bears and that is scary.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/devil.gif

On second thoughts l don't think l will be giving out any secrets about this defence, l might just lock it in the vault.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/afraid%20not.gif

Some great matches around the league, boy two weeks to go, if the colts get home field that will really be exciting, a real platform to give it a shake.

another cock up in Miami cause by my inatentiveness.

I spent the day yesterday adding many new lines to the offence, this being the first time in months I've put any serious thought into the C.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif
So I submitted the game an hour or so before the deadline and sent dave the confirmation copy.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/thumb%20up.gif
Was just about to head to beddiebyes at about 0300 when I get an email from dave saying he hopes I was joking when I sent him all our miami changes submitted for the AY Eagles!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/shock.gif  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/frazzled.gif
So I raced on and resubmitted it (several times because the site was playing funny buggers) but alas it was indeed too late.
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/blue.gif
All that careful forethought and planning went for nothing!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/mad.gif

http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/surprised.gif
very relieved to have won without any tailored changes training keys etc, or dave would have had my guts for garters!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/frazzled.gif

The new offence will come in for our all important home game next week against the Mighty Texans.

Not a full indication perhaps Norm, worst offence in the league, poor ol' Beats has only 109 points in 14 games.

Agree, not really a true indication, but how many shut outs against the Pats?
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/salut.gif

Yeah you better start putting some time into the fins cause the big bad indy Colts are in town and this team has a roster and l will be roster building in this league no monkey business.

Don't expect too much from us Norm, we seem to have the habit of falling in a heap with this team, for much of the time the C is just where I come for a bit of unpressured gameplan fun, where I can explore wild and wackie ideas without hurting me in the AY. That said I do love having the alternate outlet for my creative juices, even if I don't commit alot of time to it. I'm planning on staying around as long as dave is willing to stay too. And whenever crunch time comes around we get a little more serious and start doing things like adding in gameplans, changing training and bonuses and such...
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/rofl.gif

Problem is with so many strange things tried during the natural course of their season when it comes time to put it all together its nigh on impossible!
http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/funny%20face.gif

2 weeks left huh? Sounds like we need to get our shit together!

Fair enough, l won't be going easy on you l can tell you that, l treat all teams equal, l hate to lose so l busta move for every yard.

ln the AR l wanted to key two plays to help us win a pre-season game and Greg said we would be better getting those two plays up so we get the carry over to next season. Man that was a hard pill to swallow, but he was right, l just want to win an ant race so gameplan is like sick mate, fully sick.

Delighted with the big win in Cleveland, especially after my team has been looking like it was on the slide with defeats to Washington and Indianapolis.  I have to say though that all my luck this season has come in both games against the Browns...Chris must be sick as a dog! Hopefully I won't have to go through another 6 games before some lucky plays start going my way again!

I honestly expected the slide to continue and to lose this week against the ominous looking Browns, and even though I won the Central is far from sewn up...I need to win 1 out of my 2 remaining games against Miami and Cincinnati.  With both teams fighting all the way for a playoff spot, it should be a very interesting final 2 weeks of the season.

The remaining fixtures for the teams in playoff shake-up are :

Houston 10-4 (+144)
vs Miami (A)
vs CINCINNATI (H)

Cleveland 9-5 (+53)
vs OAKLAND (H)
vs JACKSONVILLE (H)

Cincinnati 9-5 (+67)
vs Indianapolis (A)
vs Houston (A)

Miami 9-5 (+67)
vs HOUSTON (H)
vs INDIANAPOLIS (H)

I have a feeling this is going to go down to the wire...one of these teams is gonna miss out on the playoffs by the skin of their teeth, I'm just hoping it isn't going to be me!

hah! Miami and cinci both 9-5 (+67) having to play the colts, might end up being who can score most against the Caesar salad defence of yours Norm.

Texans and Colts, those two games are a tough ask for a team so up and down as the fins. Might have to buckle down abit or dave will get stroppy with the unreliable aprentice...

Of course, there is also the possibility should Miami and Cincinnati both lose both of their games to Indianapolis and Houston that Denver (7-7 (+8)) or Buffalo (7-7 (-22)) could sneak into the playoffs on 9-7 on points difference...

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/mad.gif

Yet again I've paid the price for putting bugger all effort into my gameplan. FFS I even warned in my predictions (yet to go up on Mike's site, but perhaps that's for the best right now!) that I couldn't afford any complacency and then proceeded to totally ignore my own advice, even though I had the extra day's Bank Holiday to prepare! I figured that I shut the Vikings out in Week 2, so just copying the 4 main lines on defence from that plan would suffice, but there was obviously a fatal flaw in my reasoning there. Perhaps looking at what the Vikings do on defence might've been an idea as well, instead of just sticking with last week's offence!

Going into this week's game with the Cowboys, I should've been in a position to secure the division with a win, but now the result of this game doesn't really matter as it'll still come down to having to beat the Bears in Week 16 (unless Alan's got even lazier than me and somehow manages to lose to the Giants!).

If I can't get over my "gameplanner's block" soon, then it's hard to see much of a future for me in this game.  http://www.users.on.net/~acoombe/blue.gif

Exactly the same thing happened to me in mid-season against the Jags...thought the game would be a walk in the park, didn't put much effort into my gameplan, and ended up losing 41-38 in OT...that game might yet cost me the AFC Central title...

Well the Bengals had an UGLY win against the Jags. Outgained and not even close on first downs and managed the win. Only positive coming from this game is the fact that we played terrible and managed to get the win with a late FG.

Will be really tight in the next few weeks. Bengals have massive road games against the Colts and the Texans. Realistically we need to win both to make it. We could slip up once and be out of the hunt. Then again, 4 weeks ago we were sitting at 5-5 and looking like the playoffs were out of reach so good to be in the thick of it so late in the season.

Mike, Chris might have a good chance of taking the central as he should win both games quite well which would really put the pressure on both our teams. Your for and against is great and could be a key factor in who makes it.

Of course, regardless of what happens against the Colts the Bengals will be going all out in the season finale to topple the Texans for the first time.

Norm, looking forward to Bengals/Colts clash. How about your Colts be gracious hosts and let the Colts chearleaders play the game...then again the way the Bengals played against the Jags we would probably find a way to stuff it up and lose.

There'll always be a future- someone has to fill out the bottom of every division! (even if its just for a few games or a season or so while you get your mojo back)

Sam,

It really looks like being a nailbiting finish to the season in the AFC Central...I am certainly enjoying being involved in a 3 team battle for a division title for the first time.  I hope yourself and Chris will both be back next season to continue this developing rivalry!

Mike,

At the moment having a lot of fun and intend on staying with the Bengals into the new season. Went through a shocking run late last season and good to see the team coming around now. Still a way to go but don't want to leave until the Bengals..
- have a winning season (can tick this one off the list)
- make the playoffs
- beat the Texans (solely because the Texans have been so good and have proved to be one of the teams to beat, and we haven't managed to beat you yet, or even get close.)
- beat the Browns (back to back losses has me pumped to return the favour, especially if it costs me a plyoff spot).

And if I am around long enough, the ultimate goal of winning the league. But that will definitely take a while as there are so many quality coaches on board.

Mike / Sam

Not sure if I will be at the Browns next season. I am under contract until week 20 and at that point will see how it goes, as my interest in GP continues to fade a bit.

I played HARD for the last game hoping to force turnovers, instead the Texans got most of them with 24 gifted points to 3 [img]being the difference in the game. All we got were 12 penalties despite having a 38 point D. It was one of those GP games that makes you wonder why you bother. Although the game was dead in the 4th Q the icing on the cake was the fumbled punt return, making fumbles by the QB, RB and PR as well as 2 picks.

Really frustrating way to lose which leaves us for a week at least 3rd in the WC race. Still we have an easier run in and I expect to be 11-5 and hosting the WC as I cennot see the Phins beating the Texans next week, and one loss by the Phins or Bengals will see us home for a WC berth and with the Raiders and Jags to come we shoudl really go 11-5.

The best thing about this season has been the 3 way race for the AFC Central and congrats to Mike for holding off the challenge.

All the best

Chris,

Really hope you will stick around, I don't think we've seen the best of your Browns yet...I certainly didn't expect to score 45 points against you twice!  Like I said, I do think that all my luck for the season came in both games against you, so I wouldn't be too downhearted about it, my luck lately has stunk so I thought something like this might happen.  Hope to play you again next season, or maybe even in the playoffs this season!

Colts are full steam ahead we need to try and get home field, so sorry sam/alex and dave you better put your best foot forward we are going for broke, you don't get this close to a shot at home field and let it slip.
