Coach Gick is also in talks to extend his contract with the Lions, although the owners do have some concerns over his lack of commitment to turning up for team practice.

Miami management is determining whether to offer Coombe and Flesfader a contract for 10 games with a likely option for 10 following, or just resign until this point next year (20 weeks)...

With the Bengals assured of a winning season and still in the playoff hunt in the final week management has decided to continue with Coach Chillari for another season to try and continue on the progress shown this season.

Arizona's owners have offered an extended contract to their head coach, but he is delaying signing until seeing what effect the end of season draft/cull has on his playing resources. Initial thoughts are that he will eventually sign a 1yr extension.

talks with Buffalo hit a snag when the league commish interupted negotiations, currently looks like I'll have to stay in Miami, but will most likely suffer a demotion and serious pay cut.

Now that would be interesting, if you left Dave to control the Dolphins on his own and took over in Buffalo, going into direct competition with Dave!

When Coach Flesfader went behind my back to team management, blamed me for the poor showing and tried to get them to rip up my contract I got on the phone to Buffalo already plannign revenge, but Danny put the brakes on that plan, (saying its unfair to coaches in teh AFC that I come into a new team having already played AFC Coaches- but I mean I literally don't even recognise who we are playing each week I jsut fiddle with my offence and put in a few changes) Fortunatey Miami upper management has brokered a peace and it now looks like I will be returning to fullfil the remainder of my contract and may exercise the right to extend it, althoguh it is likely it will be at the lesser position of Special Teams Coach, rather than Offensive Coordinator (think Dave must have slept with somwone at the top to get these strings pulled)

Well, if Dave does want to go it alone in Miami, you could always take over the Giants and move them to Philly...then we would have a real NFC-Australia Division!

Mike, now that is a very good idea!!! What about it Al Supremo?? I even think the Redskins might be available as well.....but maybe you better take the Giants instead Al, that way at least Greg & I would have some chance!! --Last edited by The Cardinal on 2007-06-20 10:29:49 --

Nah, I thought about it, but if we split to have a team each I'd want to be close enough so I'd play the old teacher regularly, prefereably in the same division- unlike in AY where its rare for us to play. Besides I'd only want one team in Philly in my GP stable- makes the AY special. If i did move out from Miami Danny says it'd have to be into the NFC (Because of all my inside knowledge of the AFC!?) and the East would be first choice as I love playing the Cardinal and would like a shot at Greg's ugly boys too one day. Maybe next year I'll revisit the idea. In the meantime Danny misses out on a couple of hundred dollars in credits that could have put on buffalo... oh well he's just trying to keep you all happy and from getting upset. cheers

Alex, If you want to send Danny an email saying that every other active coach in the AFC is happy for you to take over in Buffalo (I can't see Norm, Chris, Sam, Paul, Jason etc objecting, I think we would all be glad to have another live opponent for next season), I'm sure Danny could be persuaded otherwise. It's worth a punt anyway!

I've tried reasoning with him before and it only got me and others in trouble, not willing to do it again. His business his rules, his loss of income.

Alex, I agree with Mike. I would have no problems with you joing another team in the AFC. However, I have first hand experience about leaving a team in one league and trying to rejoin. Leaving the AY and wanting to join another team other then the one I left got the response from Danny that I would have to wait. The waiting period ended up being close to two seasons before rejoining. Still, you could always try Danny and see what he says. You might be pleasantly suprised. Especially after the work you did filling in the AY and this forum...that has to go a long way to helping sway Danny to let you stay in the AFC.

Ditto....no objections whatsoever. Sort of gutted ina way because I had my eye on the Giants and gave serious consideration to mail Danny and find out if a switch would be possible. By the way Alex did Danny rule out an inter-conference transferr ? Cheers. rgds, Jay

Since there are 2 of us coaching, one has to stay with the team, and if the other leaves it has to be to the other conference because of the 'special advantage' of knowledge of the existing conference. We've never had teams in the same div before and that's what we wanted to do in C, but I can't go to AFC and we can't both go to NFC and leave Miami with our names still on it.

Al, is there any chance that Tom could take on the Dolphins leaving you and Dave free to go to NFC teams?

Dunno, maybe. Is Tom currenlty in C?
