Better than expected in St Louis as we nabbed a KK OFG*2, who will give us a few extra LPs to invest into the team once he is waived. Need to get lucky round 3 and nab a very specific type of player, if we don't get him then it'll just be go for the best player available and once we know who we get, see if we can fit him into the team or whether he gets waived for more LPs and a dip into the FA market. --Last edited by Martyn Williams on 2007-07-28 19:16:05 --

"...we managed to agree terms with a rookie DL, thus ending the debate on whether to remain in the 3-4 next year or flip to the 4-3. As we have very little experience at DL, veteran LB Twan Russell stepped up to the plate and offered to fill the MLB position. Here's hoping he's up for the job... ...also signed this week was Joey Harrington, a potential star from the free agency list. Falcons current starter Doug Johnson was demanding too much money for a third year man, especially given some of his so-called performances last year. As he was a conditional free agent, he will now become a literal free agent... ...athough we missed the drafting of our rookie running back in round 1, he has shown enough spit and vigour in early training camp workouts to force the early retirement of our veteran FB... ...round 3 will see us replace either a veteran or a second year man, depending on who is available, and who best fits our needs. Negotiations are still taking place on that score, so it is best we don't divulge too much information just yet..."

nabbed a 2* OL rookie and then went out and signed a 2*OL free agent. the rebuilding of the poorest part of the offence is underway. will be looking at enhancing special teams in the final round...or the running game depending on what is available at the 14th pick.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's going so far - a 2*¹ WR and a 3* QB to back-up a reduced Harrington is IMO a pretty good haul picking from 21st. By the 3rd round, I normally know exactly how the team's going to look for the next season, but not this year. I still have to waive one more player and there are a few candidates for the axe - who gets cut depends hugely on who's still available for me to draft this round. I'm mulling over switching to a 4-3 defence, as I've discovered a surprising (to me!) liking for this formation in my Basic leagues. Again that's very dependent on what happens in this final round though.

am happy in dallas with the draft picking up an immediate need in round 1 with a 3* DB and a long term propersition in round 2 with a 3* QB round 3 will be intersing as our draft board is spread all over the place so who we get could make a big difference to how we play for next season
