this list shows which teams players played for this year, those without teams listed next to them (and with no name) were not on NFLAY rosters this season (includes weeks 0 to now).

Feel free to contribute or request info and to use this information to add more flavour to your team by renaming your FA as he was for his old team. (e.g. My capable young backup D lineman Grasmanis was unneeded so I cut him, and he was signed by Jon).

Note many players released (usually players older than about 8 seasons or PN and KK) chose to retire rather than enter the free agency market so not every player waived this year is on this list

I have to confess that, being a bit slow on the uptake, I didn't really understand what was going on here. I'd got it into my head that you wanted coaches to tell you which FAs they were interested in signing and I thought I'll be buggered if I'm letting you know who I'm bidding for!

Now it's finally clicked, I'm quite happy to reveal that #101 is none other than former Jet John Abraham.

I like the idea by the way, Al. If I do happen to pick up one of the "named" FAs then I'll change his name to that on the roster. Hopefully Danny's not too much of a stickler for that rule about players having to be on the team's current roster in real life.

I remember way back when I first played Gameplan with Sloth Enterprises (anyone remember them?) that I named my new BQ Paul Crewe after Burt Reynolds' character in The Mean Machine without any problems, but maybe Danny runs a tighter ship than Sloth did?!?

The man really spends his valuable time trawling through each person's special actions and then goes through the NFL rosters to determine if the player is on that team now, or has been in an appropriate ammount of time?

5.9 Player Names And Numbers

Players on rosters are identified by their shirt numbers. Player names may be up to 20 characters long, including blanks. Player names and shirt numbers must belong to current players of an appropriate type with the same team in real life. Inappropriate names and numbers will be refused. If you don't know the team's roster well enough then ask for the names and numbers to be chosen for you.

Well lets all just boycott that rule and see if he catches us, how can anyone keep up to date with 32 teams with 50 man rosters that change every single day of the year?
It can't be electronic as they admit the computer's roster database is always behind...

Plus I've seen a few Dolphins teams with Dan Marino as QB!

Paul and I were thinking of doing "throwback" rosters when we joined, it seemed apt for me since I had an increadibly strong defensive roster and no offence ala 1990 Eagles with Reggie White and co.
Alas I decided there were not enough actions after I made my roster moves.
It would be cool to have a whole league of throwback teams from different eras, but that's a completely different topic that we won't go into here.

That rule went out of the window now we all type in our own names.  Danny would only change if it was something inappropriate i.e. rude!

Still not enough actions for my throwback 70s Viking side. But maybe I will start. Not all that fussed in having a current playing roster of Vikings.

Well Jon you will be happy to know your free agent aquisition this turn Was Drafted by Philly 4 years ago and he learnt his craft behind some great linemen but was cut midseason as we stremlined our cap room. Paul Grasmanis, who wore number 96 WHile in Philly is now a Jet.

Yeah, l'd have that Oilers team of the middle 80's! Kick butt, Alan Pickett, Alonzo Highsmith, Mike Rozier now thats a set of backs l loved to cheer and the legendary Oiler kicker sensation "Al Del Greco" come on that names rocks like a kicker l cannot stop saying that out loud "AL Del Greco"!

Excellent news! I'd thought I might get out-bid as I only stumped up the minimum amount, but I guess no-one else wanted him. Just hope he sticks around a bit longer than the last FA DL we signed!

Plenty of Waives this week by the looks, if you feel so inclined people add a post indicating what you waived or the details of a FA# above as I have done for Duce.

That's add an interesting new twist to the game, IMO.

You could have set trade prices or a maximum price (like the value + 10 system that's in place for FAs).

You can trade technologies in Star Chase and Spaceplan and that works very well.

The worry would be that it could be open to abuse, but a half decent regulatory framework should negate the chances of that.

Just for ideas sake...

The trade value in LPs is the nominal value (x10) plus age. 9yr 3*DBZ costs 39 LPs?

Maybe you can only trade reduced players?

A player would certainly be reduced when he got onto your team, even if he hadn't been on the old team, the designers seem pretty adamant about that aspect of roster management.

Perhaps as a way to get around trade abuse there could be a couple of turns whereby the league is presented with the pending trade and any coach can veto it for any reason, I'm sure most people would act responsibly but a minimum bid (like FAs) and some way for others to have input would be a winner in my books.
