Getting good value out of an early pick when joining up is the foundation of the success I've had in AY IMHO, 2 4 pointer from my first draft (if you count a OFGx4 kicker), a 4 pointer and 3x 3 pointers from the year after, those players are all on offence and it has helped turn the team around, some people around for a while will recall how woeful the eagles offence was back then, McNabb's QB rating was in the 30s! This is a great step to put the niners on the slow road to the top! There are 4 options I'm considering for the 2nd round, depending on what 'scraps' I get from the other 23 teams lol. OL DB LB K are the main targets, depending on final planning. Rookie OL first round selection will be slotting into RG, replacing 6th year man Mayberry, who is carrying an injury. 2 other OL are looking for contract extentions, so might get cut instead, its a good deep draft for OL this year.

was hoping one of the 3* QB's would be left for the 3rd round so disappointed that they all went. Now have to decide between a 2*QB, 2*RB, 2*TE, 2*DL or a 2*DB. This next pick will definitely only be for depth, luxury I am happy to have (even though if there was a 2*WR left he would be jumping to the 49ers). Interesting to see that there are an abundance of 4* free agents. If only I had some more LP's, they could really help in turning the 49ers around sooner rather then later.

At Arrowhead, the Chiefs went with another OL to continue the overhaul the unit. LG Brian Waters was released to make way for the rookie in a move which has KC buzzing. The new Guard has enormous shoes to fill, but we are confident that he will add some athleticism to the O-line. The third round will be opportunistic, happy to take the best talent available although would prefer something on the defensive side of the ball.

In Philly the ofensvie line was our focus too. 7 Points of CFAs, 3 points of reductions, 3 points of ORI SLs on the OLine. The 6th year reduced guy had to go, and was replaced by our first round OL, but there still wasn't enough LPs to keep it all, so I was faced with having to let the 3rd year CFA go, but in a risky move to build for the future I waived the 9th year 3 pointer, and drafted a 2 point OL to replace him. This makes all 5 OL on the team having been drafted in the last 3 years, 2 rookies, 1 2nd year player, 2 3rd year players. You could say I'm taking a risk there that age doesn't play a key role on the offensive line like it does at QB for example. Why so many offensive linemen drafted in the last 3 years? You ask- well to see why you just have to look at who I drafted 4 years ago- Westbrook! These guys are here to make his job easier!! Run forest Run! In the 3rd round I would love a QB, as McNabb is aging, and it would be good to have a cheaper QB to have as an option if the 5* QB is too expensive to keep, or be able to release the young QB for points, but I don't see one dropping to 24th since there are only 2. Its a poor year for QBs. Otherwise someone for the front 7 on D, or a punter would be a good fit in Philly.

Arizona got who they wanted in draft, but had their defensive strategy blown up by being outbid for a free agent! Miffed, I now have to revert back to plan B and hope to get someone to help out in Round 3 of draft. Was even contemplating waiving Matt Leinart........
