Wow, what a crazy final week in the GB.  All the AFC playoff races went down to the final quarter, with some surprising results.

Congrats to Pittsburgh for taking the Central crown with a great win over the Ravens on the road.  Pitt have come home with a wet sail on the back of a 6 game win streak and have largely snuck under the radar.  It must be a bitter pill for Baltimore to swallow, them now facing a home wildcard game after not so long ago being in prime position for the number one seed in AFC.  The Steelers are a quality franchise and have been a consistant force in the Gb for some time now. They are perhgaps playing their best football for many years.

The Jets turned predictions on their head also with a ough road win over the Bills.  It was a dour defensive struggle, but New York's nerves held best to get the reward of a playoff berth.

The Wild West stayed tru to form, when the Seattle Seahawks did the impossible and knocked off the brave Chiefs to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.  Hawk fans were then made to wait severeal minutes for the finish off the Raiders/ Broncos game to see if they could secure the West. Unbelievably, Denver held on in a frantic finish to shutout the Raiders 7-0.  Seattle after being 0-7 found great form down the stretch and deservedily secured a playoff spot despite a 7-9 record. For the Raiders and their fans it was a crushing loss. Their 6-1 record after 7 weeks completely evaporated and they went 1-8 down the stretch to drop the near certain divsional title that appeared to be firmly in their grasp for most of the season.  Well done to the Broncos for finishing off the season in a good way.

Other games went to the scrïpt.  Comfy wins for the Bears, Cowboys, Rams, and Dolphins.  The Cards limped hom over the dangerous Redskins to guarentee a home wildcard spot.

Commiserations must go to the Bengals and Bills who with 8-8 records missed out with a better record than the AFC West.

Certainly sets things up for a tremendous playoff series.

I will be announcing an all rookie team of the year on Sam's website next week, and will produce a selection pool for everyone to vote on the Probowl too.  Just another thing to watch out for.

Cowboys played real well on defence except for one long play. offence did well but the 3 fumbles looked real bad and will need to improve as with the likes of the Bears, Rams, Cardinals and Vikings in the playoffs, any turnover could be costly.

sorry to see Jason's Chiefs do so well only to stumble in the last game. still, great job to get a struggling team so close to the playoffs.

now that the regular season is over and the playoffs begin, let the fun begin.
